Dead flowers adorn the grave that we built,
On which we wrote our names in breath,
Fingernails are honed on teeth and gilt
Just pull the thread, pull the needle on what's left,
Every star in the sky's a ghost looking down at us,

I was a corpse buried under the snow,

All we were was there but for a day,

Even old dogs are puppies once again,
They frolick and run, all stumbling,

We stare at images of who we were,
But as our hearts begin to rise,
We fall prey to lies of skin and fur,

A bare light hangs, and goes in a flash,
Breathless lungs scream in a final dash,
